Welcome to Retail Systems Forum

The retail industry has been evolving especially rapidly for the last decade or so, with various technologies—software, hardware, and devices—having a major impact. Retailer businesses have limited time to keep abreast of these developments but at least need to window shop enabling solutions. On the other hand, retail systems providers need to have a window into the minds of retail businesses. This forum aims to provide these windows; in other words, here is a platform for retailers and system providers to meet and understand each other better. How do we go about building an integrated retail system that can weather the challenges thrown up by a changing world.

This community is being crystallized under the joint leadership of three people with different but complementary backgrounds: Sujoy Ghosh, Yogesh Singh, and Srinivas Chillara. Between them they cover the technical, business, and advisory perspectives for retail success.

“Retail” is no longer confined to the shelf. We believe that any business model interacting directly with many consumers—from FMCG and fashion to hospitality, travel, and logistics—shares the same DNA. We welcome participation from all such businesses. Traditional retail like FMCG, clothing, and white goods are certainly discussed, as are other B2C businesses like hotels, travel, couriers, franchising, and services, which are also in the mix.

Retail businesses compete fiercely to survive and thrive, but many changes, large and small, in quick succession make their life rather difficult. An answer to this predicament is collaboration between businesses and the tech systems providers. This forum promotes such mutually beneficial collaboration via webinars, events, blogs, and white papers. We invite genuine expertise and knowledge-sharing efforts from interested individuals. This is not a forum where we encourage members to simply sell their solutions unless they can demonstrate a special need being filled in a highly differentiated way. This forum intends to sow this much-needed seed so all members benefit.

We look forward to the steady growth of this sapling, which has just germinated.
